T Reducer Special
Ducting is a simple, cost-effective way to connect your fans and filters to provide ventilation for your grow room or tent. Keep them securely fit using either jubilee clips or fast clamps, to in-take and extraction fans, carbon filters and air-cooled lighting systems.
When constructing a ventilation set-up for your hydroponics grow room or grow tent, it is sometimes necessary to use a reducer. Reducers basically allow the grower to connect fans, ducting and other ventilation fittings of differing sizes. Reducers have many applications in ventilation systems. For example, if you increase the size of the ducting near your air extraction outlet, the escaping air will move with a little less speed meaning a reduction in noise. Many growers use reducers to connect different size fans and carbon filters to save the expense of buying brand new units.
Reducers consist of strong, galvanised steel. They can be connected to ducting or other ventilation equipment such as fans, carbon filters and silencers using ducting clips or duct tape. Bear in mind that using a reducer will affect the air flow of a hydroponics fan. Using a reducer will result in a change in the optimum performance of hydroponics ventilation equipment. This should be taken into account before using a reducer.
APART FROM REDUCERS, WHAT OTHER METAL WORK IS AVAILABLE?
Metal ducting pieces are a great way to change airflow in the grow room. If you need to split a flow into two, for example, there is the Y-Piece. An Equal T-Piece allows branching of ducting and 90 degree elbows help reduce noise at bends. They are all very useful things to have, and will make you ventilation jobs that much easier!
